The palace building has a triangular shape, which symbolizes the soaring golden eagle, it uses innovative architectural lighting, the design focuses on every curve of the golden eagle's majestic shape. The area of ​​the media facade of the building reaches 32248 sq.m.

The name of the legendary athlete Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov was given to the sports palace by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2020. Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov - the first Olympic champion of Kazakhstan, the world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 48 kilograms, in addition to sports, he was engaged in state and social activities, bore the title of Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, was awarded the orders "Barys", "Kurmet" and "Parasat" .

The universal sports facility of the capital of Kazakhstan with an arena for 5,000 seats is designed to host international competitions in all types of martial arts: boxing, wrestling, judo, weightlifting and athletics, and provides endless opportunities for sports fans.

The martial arts palace also has a 25-meter swimming pool, a hotel, a mini football field, a fitness center, and sports sections are open for sports fans. The hall provides VIP seats, skyboxes, judges' stands, booths for sports commentators and a modern press center for journalists with 54 seats. There are cafes and cafeterias, parking, parking for 250 cars.
